Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of infidelity on the marriage of Generation Z couples from an Islamic counseling perspective, as well as to identify the factors that cause infidelity and how Islamic counseling can be a solution in overcoming these problems. The scope of the research includes the dynamics of household conflict triggered by the presence of a third party, as well as the emotional, social and spiritual responses of the affected couples. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with couples who experienced marital conflict due to infidelity, as well as with Islamic counselors and religious leaders. The data were analyzed thematically to reveal patterns related to the causes, impacts, and conflict resolution process. The results show that infidelity has a direct impact on household breakdown, increasing the risk of domestic violence, and divorce. Factors causing infidelity include weak communication, lack of emotional control, social media temptation, and lack of religious understanding. Islamic counseling plays an important role in assisting couples to restore relationships, manage emotions, and restore marital commitment through spiritual approaches and moral guidance.
