Abstract

This study aims to explore therapeutic communication strategies that are effective in improving marital relationship quality among Gen Z couples. Gen Z, who grew up in the digital age, face particular challenges in marital relationships, such as social media pressure, differences in expectations, and communication problems caused by technological distraction. Therefore, this study focuses on identifying the challenges faced by Gen Z couples as well as applying therapeutic communication strategies to strengthen their relationship. Through a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and case study analysis, this study found that strategies such as active listening, use of “I” language in communication, validation of feelings, and collaborative problem solving can improve the quality of communication and marital relationships. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for marriage counselors and young couples in building healthy and harmonious relationships.
